Today I enjoyed the ‘Traditional Combo’. It comes with rice, 2 meat curries, 2 vegetable curries, salad, mango lassie, and a pappadam. The place is clean and tidy. The service is good, and the portions are generous. Everything on my plate was fresh and delicious.
Just what I needed for a quick lunch. This Sri Lankan restaurant has a wide selection of ready to serve curries and plenty of combo deals depending on how hungry you are. I had the vegan street combo and was able to get Dahl and vegetarian curry. There was also a vegetarian potato dish. There are sides too including curry puff and papadam.
A delicious platter with a great variety of flavours! The curries were rich and delicious (protein was on the dry side) the rice was well spiced and the crispy papadum added a nice crunch. The salad with yoghurt dressing was refreshing and the mango lassi was sweet and satisfying. Generous portions and a great mix of textures—definitely worth trying!
Great food and super service! The vegan plate is always amazing, the portion is very big. The service is quick and the staff is nice and friendly. I am not sure this is authentic Sril Lankan cuisine but it is delicious.
Delicious butter chicken and mango lassi!
Good food at reasonable price, and ordered one combo was enough for two. ❤️
The restaurant is very clean, friendly staff and the food is amazing!
Great food with a good variety. Definitely try the Lamprais.
It tastes good and is cost effective. The street combo was 9.9$ and included rice, 3 types of curry (heaped), and something like rice crackers. The lady who could not speak English and supported me and understood my order was also kind.
Great food and value for money. Friendly customer service. And even though it was very busy, it was a fast service. Pictured chicken, rice and vegetables for under $10.00. Money well spent here.
Generous servings, easy on the pocket and quick service. This is also one of my favorite place for teh tarik (pulled tea) and masala chai. Both teas are not too sweet, and has been “pulled” during the pouring process so that it is foamy and light. Masala chai is also full of ginger and cardamom flavour. I have heard of Kottu as being an iconic Sri Lankan dish – torn bread cooked with a variety of meat and vegetables. It looks like fried rice and taste delicious. The lamprais is a rice dish cooked in stock and served with meat and vegetable curry. Again delicious and generous.
My favourite place for lunch at Vic Market. Delicious Sri Lanka food. Generous serves. Friendly service. Lots of choice. Different combos to suit everyone.
We went there for lunch and loved the food. Wide variety to choose from, delicious and great value for money. The service was very prompt and the staff were genuinely hospitable. Very Happy.
One of the oldest Sri Lankan cafe in Melbourne
Great food and fantastic custormer service. 5 Stars 👏🏽
Thoroughly enjoyed my meal, Chicken Masala and Vegetables and Potatoes were beautiful, good value meal for $11.90 will definitely be back when I am back at the Market again
We tried the Drums Cafe’s stand location in the Queen Victoria Market. The roti was soft and splendid dipped in the lamb curry. We liked how the roti was cut up into bite sized pieces, making it perfect to share. We shared a combination plate that included rice, curried veggies, and butter chicken resting on a banana leaf. This is a great meal if you’re looking for great flavor without too much heat.
Excellent and tender lamb with curry and yellow rice. Highly recommended
Great lunch at decent prices. Friendly service and it fills your belly up 🙂
Great Sri lankan place! Loved the free fried chillies 🙂
A regular spot for lunch in the food court queen Vic market. never disappointed with the food. Very friendly people.
Excellent food at a great price! Highly recommend

Absolutely delicious authentic food. My brother-in-law was Sri Lankan, and I have not eaten food like this for years. You can’t go wrong. Lots of options for vegetarians and vegans too. The photo is my half attacked lunch. Highly recommended!!!
I bought naan, samosa and mango lassi(yogurt drink) they are really gooddddd plus affordable good price.
This place is so good! Amazing chai. I love to get one of the combo plates and always pick the chicken or fish curry as they’re superb. All the food is so yum. V reasonably priced too, highly recommend.
Ordered the vegetarian lamprais and street combo. Both so flavourful, a must try at QVM !
Food was delicious and very reasonably priced, highly recommend! I’m from Malaysia and this reminds me of home. We had a warm welcome and very friendly service. The lady that served us even offered to help mind our toddler while we ate (all parents really appreciate having a spare few minutes to be able to enjoy food without wriggly and screaming kids). Thank you we are very grateful 🙂
Very good taste and authentic food, reasonable prices!
Delicious affordable food, nice people, great location. Will come back again.
Great food, reasonably priced. Huge variety of tasty curries.
Tried to get a place in some fancy hip cafes around Melbourne with no luck and ended up here. The food is very authentic and reminded me about time spent on Sri and made me think about unreasonable hype which surrounds certain places in Melbourne.
Fresh vegetables, good service, tasty lunch and very reasonable price.
Great food and prices. Nice outside seating and Queen Victoria Markets next door. Don’t hesitate for yum Sri Lankan food.
Nice food, good varieties and friendly staff. Good quantity of food as well.
I hate goat meat but Drums make it really nice. Even the 11 year old boys said it was the best. Service is very good also. Feed like a king for under $12. Keep up the good work.
Loved the food, reasonably priced….authentic taste…can’t appreciate enough…😋
Incredible. Amazing kottu, and lots of food options at a low price.
Very delicious, real Sri Lankan food.

The best goat 🐐 curry and I’d strongly recommend trying the deviled chicken plus the service is very friendly
Couldn’t believe the food was priced only 9.90$ This is like the best value for money meal. We ordered some naan, chicken curry, biryani rice and grilled chicken. They tasted heavenly!
Just came for the kotthu and was not disappointed! Great and friendly service as well!
Best Sri Lankan street food ever!
